I am a 63 year old wife, mom and grandma. I’ve been a stay at home Mom and Grandma. I’m on my feet all day because I work all day around the house, I don’t sit around and watch soap operas all day.
Because of my back and spinal issues I’ve had to wear athletic shoes most of the time. For years I wore steel shank inserts from the Foot Levelers company because my arches needed support and I needed a lift under one heel. Those were getting old and couldn’t be replaced.
When I found Protalus through a discount on Facebook, I decided to order them and see if they would work for me and I’ve been really pleased. My feet were starting to hurt bad enough that when I got up in the morning I literally did that flat foot walk where Steve Harvey is parodying the church ladies, the older ladies with aching feet that walk funny. But since wearing Protalus, I don’t do that anymore. I do have some aches in my foot now and then, but now most of the time I don’t have any problems, the pain is gone.
I have loose ligaments, so I visit my chiropractor often, as I’m aging I need to stretch certain muscles so it doesn’t matter what shoes I wear. They haven’t significantly impacted my spine or my hips, but they have impacted my feet. I’ve had these issues with my back ever since I was a young adult, my chiropractor can put me in place but I don’t stay in place very long.
The Foot Levelers were 20 plus years old, and I kept packing things under the arches as they got older and they needed help. I tried ordering a new pair through a chiropractor, but they came flat as if they were already formed as if they would support my foot, and I had to send those $300 foot insoles back. It’s been a long time since I looked for anything online. Most didn’t have what I wanted. I didn’t want plastic ones because they are hard and they end up being smelly. My old ones were leather with a steel insert.
Protalus was comfortable and I liked the fact that they held my heel in place and I started noticing how my ankles didn’t invert. I always wear Protalus in my athletic shoes that I wear around the home, going grocery shopping type of shoes, if I’m going to church I slip on a light pair of Mary Janes, I don’t put them in there because they don’t fit. And in the summer I wear fit conforming sandals and I can’t wear my Protalus then either. But the Protalus insoles fit snuggly in my athletic shoes.
I have contacted the Protalus office and told them to send a sample pair and information to my own chiropractor because I literally saw a woman walk out of her office with her ankles turned inward so much they practically touched the floor, so I thought that woman needs Protalus. So I contacted someone at Protalus and they said they would send my chiropractor information.
Protalus helped me no longer have pain while I’m walking around. I would recommend Protalus to someone that stands on their feet all day and someone that has to do a lot of walking, these really help. The clerks in the grocery store do a job I could not do. These would be very helpful for someone that stands on their feet all day.
