Nick Passanise
Ok so I am a 38 yr old male who is very active and I'm on my feet about 12 hrs a day on a hard concrete floor. I'd say about 2yrs ago I started developing pain in my ankles, feet, and toes which later started to give me pain in my knees and my back. I would be in pain as soon as I put my feet on the floor when I got out of bed in the morning. Then I'd struggle and limp in pain all day at work. I tried all sorts of inserts and shoes to help. I was constantly taking ibuprofen to ease some of the pain. I finally went and saw a podiatrist and he did some x-rays and blood test to make sure I was getting enough vitamin D. Well I found out that I roll out on my heels which is Supination (or under-pronation) is the opposite of pronation and refers to the outward roll of the foot during normal motion.
A natural amount of supination occurs during the push-off phase of the running gait as the heel lifts off the ground and the forefoot and toes are used to propel the body forward. So he suggested making me some custom inserts to help. So I had them made and they cost me $500.00 which at the time I said it was well worth it to get me feet back especially if they were good for 5yrs.
That's only 100$ a year to get my feet back and my life back. I felt great for a few months then the pain started coming back but got worse and this time it was more in my ankles. I struggled to get through a day at work and then had no energy to play with my kids when I got home. Going for walks with my dogs, playing with my kids, working out and all other activities weren't fun anymore. The pain was bad.
So then I came across Protalus one day and started reading testimonials and researching their product. I started seeing how well designed they were and how many people that had the same issues as me were in no more pain. Of course, I tried so many inserts in the past that I was a little skeptical but I ordered a pair anyways. Before I ordered I asked a few questions on their Facebook page and got a super quick response and they answered my questions and I felt way more confident in trying them out.
So I got my inserts super quick think it was only 2 days which was awesome. I have been wearing them for about 4 weeks now with a supination Brooks shoe and I have absolutely no pain anywhere. I've always used the Brooks shoes for years with all my other inserts and never had this outcome so it's definitely not the shoes I just wanted to note that I still use good shoes to go with my inserts. I am back to jogging and doing all activities I enjoyed before pain-free. I am complete satisfied and will be buying these from now on. Well thanks, Protalus for making an awesome product and getting me my life back.
