I am now approaching 70 years (October). All these years of hiking off trail in the Olympic Mountains, and never a foot problem. I grew up with my grandfather, and we spent many, many years together in the rainforests and mountains of the Olympic Peninsula, traveling EXTREMELY rough terrain. This year, I started my usual "pick up" in training, starting with very fast walking, and then a bit of jogging - as usual. Only, this time it didn't go so well for my feet, and I developed SEVERE plantar fasciitis, with most of the pain in the middle of my instep, and the outside edge of my foot. I went into panic mode, but then came across the Protalus site. Guess what? I think you guessed it... :-) PAIN FREE and training like a madman for my upcoming life dream of hiking for three months with only small interruptions to resupply, from July 15th through October 15th. How could I possibly thank Protalus enough for their wonderful inserts. They really do work. Amazing, and it almost brings me to tears. Thank you, my friends.
